- Boston Applied Technologies
Incorporated (BATI), a new but leading developer of light intensity
and polarization management products, today announced the introduction
of Micro Variable Optical Attenuator (µVOA) to its most
reputable Eclipse™ VOA family. The µVOA is one of the
smallest solid-state electronic VOA in the market.
Based on the patented proprietary OptoCeramicTM; technology platform, the Eclipse™ µVOA provides high speed, high dynamic range, low insertion loss, low polarization dependence loss and the best reliability in a very compact package. The µVOA is an ideal system choice for optical power management, dynamic gain equalization, as well as add/drop applications, where a small footprint is critical. "We are very proud that we have shipped thousands of VOAs to our customers since the introduction of the Eclipse™ VOA in 1999 and no device failures have been reported to date," said Dr. Kevin Zou, Vice President and CTO. The Eclipse™ VOA was the world smallest and fastest electronic VOA when it was introduced and the first VOA to pass Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 reliability tests. "The Eclipse™ µVOA retains all the good features and reliability as its sister VOAs in the family with a remarkably reduced footprint", stated Dr. Zou, "Best of all, we are able to offer the most competitive price in the industry to our customers based on the lowest cost nature and the proven design and matured processing." The standard Eclipse™ µVOA is designed for C-band, and available in other wavelengths upon customer's request. |
